eLearning offers a number of advantages over traditional classroom training including the following:

A major consideration for any company considering training is cost. As the number of people needing training increases, it becomes more cost effective to develop an eLearning application than to send people to class. In situations where trainees are widely dispersed, travel time and costs to send them to an instructor-led class can be prohibitive, and sending trainers to them would not be practical. Giving these people access to an eLearning application would make more sense.
eLearning is more efficient than just reading the manual
Many working people do not have the motivation or ability to sit down and teach themselves something new by reading a manual. Manuals are usually more effective for reference than for learning. On the other hand, eLearning applications attract a student's interest and are even considered enjoyable to use.
